What is a real estate feed?
Real estate feeds can be described easiest as a connection that allows third party web sites to consume the real estate listing information (listing data) from a feed source web site, in this case Varidyn.
Real Estate Feed Facts
Just like some other real estate marketing tools and web sites, Varidyn sends real estate feeds to some of the largest feed aggregators there are on the internet. This means we feed Vast, Oodle and others with your real estate listing information through real estate feeds via xml (extensible markup language), which is the way today's internet shares real estate and other data.
Which real estate feed source sites like Google Base, Vast, Trulia and others decide to use is based in part on the quality of the feed source (how much listing information is provided), the quantity of real estate feed listings available from the source, and in cases, how much site feed providers are willing to pay to have the listings in the feed considered for syndication.
Varidyn does not pay any real estate site to consume our real estate feeds. As such there will be times another party may be selected as the real estate feed source for your listing(s). This is common and should not be in any way considered a failure of the Varidyn real estate feed. Many of our listings will still end up on the major sites because (a) we provide all the desired optional listing information that we have available, and (b) there are instances when we are the only syndicated source containing your real estate listing information. What is most important is that your real estate listing is being included in the feed, regardless of the source that is chosen to provide it.
Varidyn's Approach To Syndication
We take a multi-faceted approach to online real estate advertising syndication to ensure the best overall exposure for each of your online real estate ads, virtual home tours and home for sale property websites.
#1 - Real Estate Directories, which include all of the most popular industry sites on the web as well as other websites that feature real estate or homes for sale within their site map and have been authorized to be a Vlink partner. This includes Zillow, Trulia, FrontDoor, oodle, Lycos, OLX, Yakaz, Overstock, AmericanTowns, Housefront, Bast, Local, Hotpads, Dothomes, Trovit, rentbits, ehouseads, efind, enormo, propbot, homes.com (additional fee),
#2 - High Traffic Search Engines, which includes Google, Yahoo, MSN, Bing, AltaVista, AOL Search, Momma, Dogpile, Lycos, ASK, and others.
#3 - Online Classifieds, which require individual HTML submission (ask how Vassist can help you get the most out of real estate classified advertising!) ... these sites include Craigslist, backpage, kijiji, activerain, and ebay.
#4 - Exclusive Local Hot Sites, these are hyper local websites that generate more local real estate search traffic. These sites provide lower volume of visitors but are more often highly qualified, quality prospects since these website visitors are local and are looking specifically for homes in their area. These types of sites are so important and relevant to regional searches that Varidyn is currently developing an entire network of state and local web sites where Varidyn information will be the ONLY source of real estate listings. Without Varidyn you will not be able to get included, and competitors of yours who are not members of Varidyn will be excluded so there will be minimal competition.
#5 - Social Networking - these sites include Facebook, delicious, twitter, friendfeed, linked in, stumbleupon, myspace, digg, etc. All real estate listings submitted to Varidyn will include the appropriate links that will permit visitors to vote up your listings.
#6 - Marketing Network, an exclusive venue for your personal marketing and promotion by participating in our national market report blogs. Insert a press release, information about a new listing, a new subdivision or builder you are representing, or just a real estate news story and watch your popularity grow as rise above your competitors as the authoritative voice for real estate in your area.
